Get to know me!
My name is Erin Acosta. I am so excited and proud to be a part of Rooster Springs Elementary!
I am originally from The Land of Enchantment (New Mexico). I was raised in the snowy Rocky Mountains in a small town called Chama. At the age of 14, I longed for a better education so I enrolled in a military high school called New Mexico Military Institute. Through a lot of dedication and a lot of hard work, I graduated and had obtained the high school education that I desired. I then graduated from New Mexico State University, in 2009, with my Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management. I worked as a hotel manager in New Mexico and eventually we made our way to Austin, TX. I decided to pursue a different career path and obtained my Master's Degree in Education. I currently hold certifications to teach Pre-kinder through 6th grade as well as Special Education.
I am married and have two wonderful children. Ava is 5 years old and is in Kindergarten at Rooster Springs this fall and Sawyer is almost 2 years old and really enjoys singing, getting muddy, and playing with his big sister!
